A dream

You have vistied this Website because you are thinking of your future - your vocation in life.

The greatest challenge in life is to realise your dream. We hope that this Website will help you to see a particular way of living the dream God is stirring in you.

Life provides us with many experiences which shape our understanding and help us to live well. They are the experiences which influence our decisions because they  resonate deeply with what is best in us, our love for God and neighbour.

Do you find in yourself a growing desire for justice and peace, a desire to share the hope you have? One way to make a difference in the world is to act on the desire that is awakening in you!

Why not consider if you are being called to live this dream as a Missionary Oblate of Mary Immaculate?

In 1807, a young man called Eugene de Mazenod had a dream. Overcome by a sense of God’s love for him and for the world, he passionately sought to bring this good news to the poor and the excluded.

Oblate Novena Prayer

From May 21, the feast of St. Eugene de Mazenod, through May 29, the feast of Blessed Joseph Gerard, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate make a communal novena of prayers for vocations to the Religious Life and the Priesthood. This is a suggested prayer for communities and individuals:

Heavenly Father, who inspired Eugene de Mazenod to send forth missionaries to teach and live the Gospel among the poor, increase our love, we humbly pray, for those who are most abandoned.

Extend your loving call to many generous young men and women. Grant them the desire to give themselves, their lives, their time, and their talents to the service of Jesus Christ and the poor. May more young men go forth as priests and brothers, and young women as sisters, to serve those who are most in need.

Look with love on your family, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Lead its members to perfect love and make their ministry fruitful.

Through the intercession of St. Eugene de Mazenod, may the Oblate family increase.

This we ask through Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
